Basketball Recap: Pewaukee Makes It 15 in a Row at Home

Pewaukee had already won eight in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 37.1 points) and they went ahead and made it nine on Wednesday. They blew past the Whitnall Falcons, posting an 81-32 victory. Given the Pirates' advantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked first, while the Falcons are ranked 62nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Whitnall's loss came despite strong showings from Ella Koch and Kailtlyn Kaye. Koch posted seven points and six rebounds, while Kaye earned nine points. Kaye is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as she's posted one of at least 50% in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Amari Ogleton, who put up six points.

Pewaukee pushed their record up to 21-2 with the win, which was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 78.8 points over those games. As for Whitnall, their loss ended an eight-game streak of away wins and brought them to 19-3.

Looking ahead, Pewaukee will host Laconia at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Whitnall does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
