Girls Prep has gone a perfect 4-0 against Rhea County recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Girls Prep Bruisers will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against the Rhea County Golden Eagles at 5:15 p.m.

Last Tuesday, Girls Prep came up short against East Hamilton and fell 9-5.

Jayla Gladden was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Calieah Reyes was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Rhea County gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Thursday. They were the clear victor by a 10-2 margin over Hixson. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Golden Eagles as it put an end to their three-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Allie Shaver was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over five innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-low in walks (zero). She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one triple and one run. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one triple the last three times she's played.
