Softball Recap: Redington Huskies vs. Soldotna Stars

Redington extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 16 on Friday, dropping their season record down to 0-6 in the process. They lost 20-5 to the Soldotna Stars. The Huskies were not able to make up for their loss to the Stars from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

Redington saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Rylee Lyon, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs.

Soldotna's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-1-1. They not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since May 10, 2024 (when they won 24-4).

On Soldotna's side, Tatum Cooper was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three stolen bases, six RBI, and three runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Aliya Blough, who got on base in two of her three plate appearances with four stolen bases and three runs.

Coming up, Redington will be playing at home against Homer at 11:45 a.m. on Saturday. As for Soldotna, they will square off against Dimond at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Lynx's pitching crew has only allowed 3.7 runs per game this season, so the Stars' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
