Basketball Recap: Crater Starts Season with Win Against Sheldon

Crater had to kick off their season on the road on Wednesday, but they showed no ill effects. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Sheldon Irish, sneaking past 63-61. Winning may never get old, but the Comets sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row dating back to last season.

Several Irish players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kai Gallic, who shot 56% from the field to rack up 12 points and eight assists. Kai Holmes was another key player, putting up 13 points in addition to six assists and six rebounds.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Crater will take on Roseburg at 6:45 p.m. on Friday. As for Sheldon, they are headed away from home for the first time to square off against Thurston at 8:30 p.m. on Saturday.
