When it comes to explaining why Vanguard lost, one person who can't be blamed is D'Mareon Manning. Despite the final result, he scored 19 points along with seven rebounds. Those seven rebounds set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Kevin Campbell, who scored five points along with three steals.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Vanguard's road trip will continue as they head out to face Berkeley Prep at 7:00 p.m. on January 9th. Berkeley Prep will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive. As for Winter Springs, they will head out on the road to face off against Hagerty at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
