Baseball Preview: Midd-West Mustangs vs. Danville Ironmen        
        
		
            
 The Midd-West Mustangs will be staying on the road  on Friday to face off against the Danville Ironmen at 4:30  p.m. Midd-West is strutting in with some hitting muscle, as they've averaged 7.1  runs per game  this season.
 Midd-West is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to ten  runs  on Saturday, they were much more limited against Southern Columbia Area  on Thursday. They took  a  4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tigers. The  match marked the first time this season in which Midd-West was not able to get on the board.
 Midd-West saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Kyle Shupp, who  went 2-for-3 with a  double.
 Meanwhile, it was a hard-fought  game, but Danville had to settle for  a  5-4 loss against Jersey Shore on Wednesday. Danville has now  taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
  Matt Acor made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and  went 2-for-4 with three  RBI and two  doubles. The team also got some help courtesy of  Wyatt Shultz, who  went 1-for-4 with a  home run.
 Even though they lost, Danville  hit smart and  finished the game with only two  strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Jersey Shore struck out seven times.
 Midd-West's record now sits at 6-3. As for Danville, their record is now 6-3.
 The batters for both teams will have to hit smart  on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Midd-West has been retiring batters left and right this season,  having  averaged 8.1  strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Danville struggles in that department as   they've been averaging 7.7. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
 Midd-West took their  victory against Danville  when the teams last played  back in April of 2023 by a conclusive  11-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for Midd-West since the  team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
