Basketball Recap: Lexington Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Lexington can now relate to. They were outmatched by the Cold Springs Eagles and fell 70-42. The Golden Bears have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Cold Springs' win on Friday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Hollyn Bruer, who went 5-for-11 to rack up 18 points in addition to six boards and three steals. Those 18 points gave Bruer a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kenady Graves, who went 5-for-12 en route to 17 points and seven rebounds.

Lexington's loss dropped their record down to 16-11. As for Cold Springs, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-8 record this season.

Lexington does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Cold Springs, they have already played their next game, a 46-38 victory against Sulligent on the 11th.
