Softball Recap: Highland Picks Up Sixth Consecutive Win

Highland had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.4 runs) and they went ahead and made it six on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 16-1 margin over the Bishop Ready Silver Knights. For the Fighting Scots, this counts as revenge for the 12-5 win the Silver Knights walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2017.

Braylin Romshak made a big impact no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over five innings pitched. Romshak was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, Saylor Squires was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one triple. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Kate Clements, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, two doubles, and one stolen base.

Highland was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .625. The last time their batting average was this high was back in March of 2025.

Highland's victory bumped their record up to 11-3. As for Bishop Ready, they dropped their record down to 3-8 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Highland has already played their next contest, a 10-0 defeat against Johnstown-Monroe on the 18th. As for Bishop Ready, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 7-6 loss against Whitehall-Yearling on the 17th.
