Softball Game Preview: Cleveland Central Catholic Ironmen vs. Rhodes Rams

The Cleveland Central Catholic Ironmen will venture away from home to face off against the Rhodes Rams at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Cleveland Central Catholic comes in still looking for their first win of the season.

Cleveland Central Catholic lost 25-5 to Bard Early College on Wednesday. That's two games in a row now that the Ironmen have lost by exactly 20 runs.

Cleveland Central Catholic saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Taahira Bobbitt, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run. Bobbitt has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played. Marissa Hampton also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.

Meanwhile, Rhodes suffered their biggest defeat since April 1, 2024 on Wednesday. They came up short against Villa Angela-St. Joseph, falling 14-2. Perhaps unsurprisingly, the Rams' biggest loss of the season was also their lowest-scoring.

Cleveland Central Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 0-10. As for Rhodes, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-4.

Cleveland Central Catholic might still be hurting after the 18-1 defeat they got from Rhodes in their previous meeting back in April. Can the Ironmen avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
