Walsenburg had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They enjoyed a cozy 24-6 win over the Lyons Lions. That's more bragging rights for the Panthers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Adrian Vallejos threw for 132 yards and one touchdown on only 12 passes. Taylor Torres was his top target, picking up 110 receiving yards and one score.

Walsenburg wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 51-0 defeat against Las Animas on the 5th. As for Lyons, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 46-14 loss against Byers on the 5th.
