Football Recap: Walsenburg Starts Season with Win on the Road

Walsenburg had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They strolled past the Lyons Lions with points to spare, taking the game 24-6. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Panthers also won the last time the pair played back in August of 2024.

Adrian Vallejos threw for 132 yards and one TD on only 12 passes. Taylor Torres was his top target, picking up 110 receiving yards and one score.

Walsenburg will square off against Las Animas at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Lyons, they will challenge Byers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
