It may have taken ten innings to finish the job, but Eastern ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They skirted past the Lynchburg-Clay Mustangs 5-3. For the Warriors, this counts as revenge for the 7-0 win the Mustangs walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2025.

Averi Tabor was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-5 with one home run and three RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Maddison Simpson, who went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Isabella Spires was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one triple and one run.

Eastern kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits in three consecutive contests.

Eastern's record is now 6-1. As for Lynchburg-Clay, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-3.

Looking ahead, Eastern will square off against Georgetown at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Lynchburg-Clay has already played their next matchup (against Johnstown-Monroe), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
