Softball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Kenyon-Wanamingo

Kenyon-Wanamingo hadn't done well against Blooming Prairie recently (they were 0-6 in their previous six matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Knights were the clear victors by a 17-11 margin over the Awesome Blossoms. The win was familiar territory for the Knights, who have now won three matchups in a row.

Amber Lerfald was incredible, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and three RBI. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Allina Mendoza was another key player, going 2-for-5 with four stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Kenyon-Wanamingo kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Kenyon-Wanamingo now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Blooming Prairie, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Kenyon-Wanamingo will face off against Goodhue at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Knights are facing the Wildcats at the right time seeing as the Wildcats are stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Blooming Prairie, they will host Randolph at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Rockets' pitching crew has only allowed 0.1 runs per game this season, so the Awesome Blossoms' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
