Redbank Valley has gone a perfect 3-0 against Union/Allegheny-Clarion Valley recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Bulldogs will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Union/Allegheny-Clarion Valley at 4:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Union/Allegheny-Clarion Valley will square off against a team with plenty of momentum: Redbank Valley extended their winning streak to seven on Tuesday. Everything went the Bulldogs' way against Karns City as they made off with a 10-4 victory. Redbank Valley's win was all the more impressive since the Gremlins were averaging only 3.44 runs allowed on the season.

Braylon Wagner made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching four innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. Wagner was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one double. He is becoming a predictor of Redbank Valley's success: when he posts at least three hits the team is undefeated (and 6-8 when he doesn't).
In other batting news, Jordan Smith was excellent, going 1-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Carson Gould, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI.
Redbank Valley kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in three consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Union/Allegheny-Clarion Valley got the win against Keystone on Wednesday by a conclusive 10-3. Union/Allegheny-Clarion Valley hasn't had any issues with Keystone recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.
The team relied heavily on Carter McGarvey, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Colbin Elliott, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Redbank Valley's win was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-8. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.7 runs over those games. As for Union/Allegheny-Clarion Valley, their record now sits at 11-7.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Thursday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Redbank Valley has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Union/Allegheny-Clarion Valley struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.9 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
