Legacy Christian Academy's game on Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Houston Wildcats a 10-0 shutout. The Knights might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by six runs or more this season.

Jacob Thompson made a big impact no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

In other batting news, Legacy Christian Academy let Joshua King and Nathan Whitt run wild. King went 3-for-4 with four RBI, one triple, and one run, while Whitt went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Those four RBI gave King a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Adriel Angel, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.

Legacy Christian Academy is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Houston, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-18.
