Basketball Recap: New Manna Christian Makes It Seven in a Row at Home

New Manna Christian won the last time they faced Victory Christian Academy and things went their way on Thursday too. The Wind snuck past the Patriots with a 59-54 victory. Given the Wind's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 172nd, while the Patriots are ranked 386th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Victory Christian Academy's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tomorris Caldwell, who posted 25 points and four steals. The game was Caldwell's fourth in a row with at least 17 points. Jeremiah Erwin was another key player, putting up 13 points in addition to five assists and five steals.

The home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.9 points over those games. As for Victory Christian Academy, they moved to 3-4 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.
