Preview: Opp Bobcats vs. McKenzie Tigers
The Opp Bobcats will be playing in front of their home fans against the McKenzie Tigers at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. McKenzie took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Opp, who comes in off a win.
Opp can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They came out on top against Daleville by a score of 43-34. The victory was just what Opp needed coming off of a 58-30 loss in their prior contest.
Opp's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Samaria Womack, who scored eight points along with five rebounds and three blocks. Another player making a difference was Jalisa Smith, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to McKenzie, who are still winless after their eighth matchup. The game between McKenzie and Georgiana wasn't particularly close, with McKenzie falling 50-31.
Opp's victory ended a nine-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-18. As for McKenzie, their defeat was their tenth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 0-8.
Opp beat McKenzie 46-37 in their previous meeting back in December of 2022. Does Opp have another victory up their sleeve, or will McKenzie turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
