Softball Game Preview: Picayune Maroon Tide vs. Pascagoula Panthers

For the second straight game, Picayune will face off against Pascagoula. The Maroon Tide will head out to square off against the Panthers at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Picayune managed to slip by Pascagoula the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Maroon Tide came up short against the Panthers on Tuesday, falling 7-1.

For Pascagoula's part, Anneleese Rabon was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over seven innings pitched. Rabon was also big at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one triple and one run.

In other batting news, Asante Dawson was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those two runs gave her a new career-high. Ty'Mia Bell also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

The win snapped Pascagoula's losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 4-10 record. As for Picayune, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-11 record this season.
