If Ripon Christian was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Riverbank two weeks ago, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Knights fell just short of the Sierra Timberwolves by a score of 3-2 on Wednesday. The Knights' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Ripon Christian was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Sierra work for it, especially in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 27-25, 25-23, 21-25, 22-25, 15-4.

Mason Tameling paced Ripon Christian's offense, picking up 23 kills. Tameling got some help from Daniel Lambdin and his 39 assists. Tameling was also solid from the service line: he led the team with five aces.

Sierra found their leader in sophomore Manolo Asuncion, who had 17 digs. Another player making a difference was Kevin Gracia, who had 15 digs.

Ripon Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 19-9. As for Sierra, they are on a roll lately: they've won 15 of their last 20 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-11 record this season.
