Basketball Recap: Idea Academy Takes a Loss

Idea Academy lost against IDEA Edinburg College Prep back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Idea Academy Titans took a 39-30 hit to the loss column at the hands of IDEA Edinburg College Prep. The Titans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

When it comes to explaining why Idea Academy lost, don't look at Cloe Bernal. Despite the final result, she posted 12 points and seven steals. Bernal is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 26 games she's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jennifer Ortega, who put up nine points.

Idea Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 8-10. As for IDEA Edinburg College Prep, the victory was the 11th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 16-10.

Idea Academy and IDEA Edinburg College Prep's offenses will be put to the test in their next games. Idea Academy will take on Vanguard Academy Rembrandt at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, a squad that's only allowed 27.67 points per game. Idea Academy's defense has only allowed 26.8 points per game this season, so IDEA Edinburg College Prep's offense will have their work cut out for them. Meanwhile, IDEA Edinburg College Prep and IDEA Pharr (who has only given up 26 points per game) will meet at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
