Softball Game Preview: Bandon/Pacific Tigers vs. Toledo Boomers

The Bandon/Pacific Tigers will challenge the Toledo Boomers at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Bandon/Pacific's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs every time they've taken the field this season.

Last Tuesday, Bandon/Pacific earned a 17-13 win over Waldport. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Irish recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Meanwhile, Toledo waltzed into their match on Tuesday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They were the clear victors by a 16-1 margin over the Eagles. Considering the Boomers have won six contests by more than seven runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Toledo got a massive performance out of Avery Fourier, who scored two runs and stole four bases while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. Those four stolen bases gave Fourier a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Gracee Retherford, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2.

Toledo always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .640. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Toledo pushed their record up to 8-1 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Bandon/Pacific, their win bumped their record up to 5-2.

Bandon/Pacific might still be hurting after the 18-5 defeat they got from Toledo in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Can the Tigers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
