The Simi Valley Pioneers are taking a road trip to challenge the Bishop Alemany Warriors at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Simi Valley is coming into the contest hot, having won their last six games.
Simi Valley made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Cleveland, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Pioneers blew past the Cavaliers 9-2 on Tuesday. Nine seems to be a good number for the Pioneers as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.
Kyle Casey tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in eight consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Evan Rodriguez and Devin Medina did most of the damage at the plate: Rodriguez scored two runs while going 2-for-4, while Medina scored a run while going 3-for-3. Those three hits gave Medina a new career-high. Lincoln Young also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.
Simi Valley hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least four batters in four consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Bishop Alemany can bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Monday. They had just enough and edged out Paraclete 6-4.
Franky Maga?a looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits.
On the hitting side, Bishop Alemany's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Jonathan Alvarez, who scored a run while going 2-for-2. Another was Chase Stevenson, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double.
Simi Valley's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-5. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Bishop Alemany, their record is now 9-10.
Simi Valley skirted past Bishop Alemany 5-4 in their previous matchup back in February of 2020. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Pioneers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
