Basketball Recap: Crew Lewis' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Tooele over Morgan

Tooele was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a hard 82-64 fall against the Morgan Trojans. While losing is never fun, the Buffaloes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Utah basketball rankings (they are ranked 72nd, while the Trojans are ranked 15th).

Several Buffaloes players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Crew Lewis, who went 11 for 23 on his way to 27 points, to go along with seven boards and five assists. With that strong performance, Lewis is now averaging an impressive 17.2 points per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Grady Symonds, who went 6 of 11 on his way to 15 points and seven boards.

Morgan's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Mason Williams, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 boards. Nathan Pace was another key player, going 6 of 11 on his way to 14 points and seven boards.

Tooele's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Morgan, their victory bumped their record up to 4-1.

Tooele didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 71-54 loss against Stansbury on the 5th. As for Morgan, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, an 82-59 win against Logan on the 6th.
