Baseball Recap: Pershing County Victorious

Pershing County came out on top against Silver Stage on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run fourth inning. The Mustangs walked away with a 6-1 win over the Nighthawks. The Mustangs haven't had any issues with the Nighthawks recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Trenton Rhodes made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 12 batters over 6.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and only one walk). He has become a key player for Pershing County: the team is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 9-10 otherwise. Rhodes was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Ayden Montes was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Colton Diaz, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

Pershing County kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Silver Stage only managed four.

Pershing County's record is now 16-10. As for Silver Stage, they are on a 13-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-20.

Pershing County will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Nighthawks: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
