Soccer Recap: Lakewood Comes Up Short

If Lakewood was riding high fresh off their 5-0 takedown of Lower Richland last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Lakewood came up short against the Hartsville Red Foxes on Friday, falling 14-0. The loss continues a trend for Lakewood in their meetings with Hartsville: they've now lost nine in a row.

Lakewood was without their leading scorer, Makayla Cisse, in Friday's contest. With Cisse sidelined, Lakewood had to make some big changes to the lineup. Three players hit the pitch for the first time this season: Mckenzie Faulkenberry, Jaelynn Douglas, and Lynea Kahalekomo.

Lakewood now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Hartsville, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-1.
