Basketball Game Preview: Sumner Stingrays vs. Alonso Ravens

The Sumner Stingrays will square off against the Alonso Ravens on Wednesday.

Sumner is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Sickles just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Thursday. They lost 91-71 to the Gryphons.

Despite their defeat, Sumner saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Bennard Anson, who went 8 of 11 en route to 21 points, was perhaps the best of all. Those 21 points gave Anson a new career-high. Immanuel Kelly was another key player, going 6 for 13 on his way to 16 points.

Meanwhile, it can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Alonso had no problem doing just that on Monday. They strolled past the Sharks with points to spare, taking the game 54-38. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Ravens as it put an end to their seven-game losing streak.

Sumner's loss dropped their record down to 14-11. As for Alonso, their victory bumped their record up to 9-17.

Sumner didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Alonso when the teams last played on Wednesday, but they still walked away with a 51-47 win. Does Sumner have another victory up their sleeve, or will Alonso turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
