Basketball Game Preview: East View Patriots vs. Georgetown Eagles

The East View Patriots will face off against the Georgetown Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Last Friday, East View was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 58-52 to Weiss. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Patriots came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 113th, while the Wolves are ranked 388th).

Meanwhile, Georgetown was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were two points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 52-50 heartbreaker at the hands of Pflugerville Connally. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Eagles have suffered since December 20, 2024.

East View's defeat ended a seven-game streak of away wins and brought them to 24-8. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.7 points over those games. As for Georgetown, their loss dropped their record down to 19-14.

East View didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Georgetown when the teams last played back in January, but they still walked away with a 65-60 win. Will East View repeat their success, or does Georgetown have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
