Baseball Recap: Lynchburg-Clay Continues Home Dominance on Thursday

With a playoff win on the line, Lynchburg-Clay rose to the challenge on Thursday. They won by a run and slipped past the St. Clairsville Red Devils 5-4. The win was familiar territory for the Mustangs, who have now won six contests in a row.

Braedon West spent all nine innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on seven hits.

At the plate, Josiah Burns was excellent, going 3-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April.

Lynchburg-Clay's victory was their 11th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 23-3. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 10.3 runs. As for St. Clairsville, the defeat snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 22-8 record.

Looking ahead, Lynchburg-Clay will face off against Graham Local at 7:00 p.m. on the 13th. The Falcons will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something the Mustangs surely won't give up without a fight. St. Clairsville does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
