Baseball Recap: Marion Center Snaps Seven-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Marion Center came out on top against Kiski School on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive seven-run fifth inning. The Stingers were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over the Cougars. With that victory, the Stingers brought their scoring average up to 6.3 runs per game.

Trent Slovinsky and Jaxon Davis were major factors while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Slovinsky pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Davis pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. What's more, Slovinsky posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in May of 2024. At bat, Slovinsky got on base in four of his five plate appearances with one RBI, while Davis got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

In other batting news, Troy Slovinsky was incredible, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Drew Runk, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

Marion Center always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .538. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Kiski School only posted an OBP of .308.

Marion Center's win ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-11. As for Kiski School, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Marion Center will take on Purchase Line at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Kiski School, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Obama Academy of International Studies at 4:00 p.m. The last three games the Eagles have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
