Basketball Recap: Mia Fairman Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Hermitage

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Highland Springs, Godwin was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Hermitage Panthers with a sharp 43-19 win. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine games by 23 points or more this season.

Godwin's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Mia Fairman, who posted ten points and seven rebounds. Those seven boards gave Fairman a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ariana Crowley, who earned ten points in addition to five rebounds and four steals.

Godwin smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive rebounds in three consecutive matches.

Godwin pushed their record up to 13-7 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 24.3 points over those games. As for Hermitage, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-14.

Coming up, Godwin will take on Freeman at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Hermitage does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
