Basketball Game Preview: Port Byron Panthers vs. Jordan-Elbridge Eagles

The Port Byron Panthers are taking a road trip to take on the Jordan-Elbridge Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Port Byron is looking for their season's first win.

Last Saturday, Port Byron had to suffer through a 73-44 loss at the hands of Weedsport. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 544th, while the Warriors are ranked 254th).

Meanwhile, Jordan-Elbridge had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They took their match on Saturday with ease, bagging an 80-43 victory over Hannibal. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four contests by 22 points or more this season.

Jordan-Elbridge now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Port Byron, their loss dropped their record down to 0-6.

Port Byron came up short against Jordan-Elbridge in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, falling 76-69. Can Port Byron avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
