Football Recap: Allen Picks Up Eighth Consecutive Victory

Allen extended their postseason success on Friday against Southwest Covenant. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 21-19 victory over the Patriots. The win was familiar territory for the Mustangs, who have now won eight games in a row.

Quintin Box continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 225 yards and three TDs while picking up 7.3 yards per carry. He also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, forcing one fumble and making six total tackles in addition to snagging an interception. Allen also got a significant boost from Noah Bray, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 94 yards.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Allen was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 369 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 166 rushing yards in six consecutive matchups.

Allen's victory bumped their record up to 9-3. As for Southwest Covenant, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-4.

Allen will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Hominy at 7:00 p.m. on December 5. The Mustangs will need to watch out since the Bucks have now posted at least 31 points in their last four contests. Southwest Covenant does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
