On Thursday, Southern Lab faced John Curtis Christian in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Southern Lab Kittens came out on top against the John Curtis Christian Patriots by a score of 54-47. The win was nothing new for the Kittens as they're now sitting on five straight.

Southern Lab got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Shaila Forman out in front who posted 19 points. That makes it five consecutive games in which Forman has scored at least a third of Southern Lab's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jamya Cain, who scored 14 points.

Southern Lab's record now sits at 19-4. As for John Curtis Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-4.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Mt. Carmel the next time they take the court. Southern Lab will head out to face Mt. Carmel at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, while John Curtis Christian will head out to face them at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
