Baseball Recap: Haysville Campus Drops Highest Score of Season Against Rose Hill

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Haysville Campus). Everything went their way against the Rose Hill Rockets on Tuesday as they made off with a 13-1 win. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.

Trace Van Asdale made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Van Asdale was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April.

In other pitching news, Ethan Powers looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he posted two strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April.

Back at the plate, Hagen Warkins was incredible, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Cooper Shinkle, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Haysville Campus always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .576. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The win made it two in a row for Haysville Campus and bumps their season record up to 16-6. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 4 runs in those games. As for Rose Hill, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-15.

Looking ahead, Haysville Campus will challenge South on Thursday. The Colts are facing the Titans at the right time seeing as the Titans are stuck on a 22-game losing streak. Rose Hill does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
