Basketball Recap: Friday's Loss Ends Traverse City West's Winning Streak

If Traverse City West was feeling good fresh off their 68-36 takedown of Traverse City Central last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Traverse City West Titans fell to the Marquette Redmen 64-60. The Titans were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Redmen earlier this season, when they won 70-65.

Traverse City West moved to 20-5 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.3 points over those games. As for Marquette, their win was their 19th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 21-3.
