Softball Game Preview: Gaston Christian Eagles vs. Greater Cabarrus S Stallions

The Gaston Christian Eagles are taking a road trip to square off against the Greater Cabarrus S Stallions at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Gaston Christian will be strutting in after a victory while Greater Cabarrus S will be coming in after a defeat.

Gaston Christian took a loss when they played away from home two weeks ago, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They skirted past Concord Academy 8-6. The win was a breath of fresh air for Gaston Christian as it put an end to their six-game losing streak.

Kenedy Miller was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 18 batters over seven innings while giving up four earned (and two unearned) runs off nine hits. Miller was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 3-for-3.

In other batting news, Bailey Livengood and Lana Hanson did most of the damage at the plate: Livengood scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4, while Hanson went 1-for-2 with three RBI and one triple. Those three runs gave Livengood a new career-high.

Meanwhile, Greater Cabarrus S came up short against Forsyth Home Educators on Friday and fell 7-3.

Gaston Christian picked up their first home victory, bumping their record up to 2-6. As for Greater Cabarrus S, their loss dropped their record down to 4-8.
