Softball Recap: Verbena Comes Up Short

Verbena's last matchup with Thorsby could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's game on Tuesday. The Red Devils came up short against the Rebels, falling 15-2. The Red Devils just can't catch a break and have now endured five losses in a row.

Verbena's defeat dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Thorsby, they pushed their record up to 7-1-1 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Verbena will host Autauga Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Generals will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Red Devils surely won't give up without a fight. As for Thorsby, they will head out on the road to challenge Billingsley at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Rebels' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bears have averaged an impressive 9.8 runs per game this season.
