Recap: Tom Bean Tomcats vs. Van Alstyne Panthers
The Tom Bean Tomcats's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fourth straight loss. They took a serious blow against Van Alstyne, falling 62-18. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Tom Bean has scored all season.
Samantha Lind and Allie Hickman certainly did their best on Thursday to try and avoid the loss. Lind scored five points along with eight rebounds and three steals, while Hickman scored seven points along with six rebounds.
Tom Bean has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-10 record this season. As for Van Alstyne, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season.
Tom Bean will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Sam Rayburn at 6:45 p.m. Van Alstyne won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Wolfe City at 10:50 a.m. on December 29th. Wolfe City will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 797th, while Van Alstyne is ranked 288th).
