The Waverly Bulldogs couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They took a 50-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of Northeast Kansas Nighthawks HomeSchool. Waverly has struggled against Northeast Kansas Nighthawks HomeSchool recently, as their game on Thursday was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Leading Northeast Kansas Nighthawks HomeSchool to victory were Allie Sifford and Laurel Schwensen. Sifford scored 12 points, while Schwensen scored 15 points.
