Baseball Recap: East Clarendon Continues Home Dominance on Tuesday

East Clarendon got themselves on the board against Kingstree on Tuesday, but Kingstree never followed suit. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over the Blazers. The Wolverines might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matchups by six runs or more this season.

Foster Matthews made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over four innings pitched. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, East Clarendon got a big performance out of Blease Hardy, who scored two runs and stole two bases. Those two stolen bases gave Hardy a new career-high. Gavin White was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-1.

East Clarendon always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .524. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Kingstree only posted an OBP of .154.

East Clarendon's victory was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-4. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Kingstree, they are on a 14-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: East Clarendon beat the Blazers by a score of 14-0 later that day.
