Basketball Recap: Eads Beats South Baca [Campo/Vilas/Pritchett] for Their 15th Straight Victory

With a playoff win on the line, Eads rose to the challenge on Friday. They blew past the South Baca [Campo/Vilas/Pritchett] Patriots, posting a 63-27 win. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 contests by 23 points or more this season.

Eads was led to victory by Anna Wollert and Tailee Weeks-Johnson. Wollert shot 47% from the field en route to 19 points along with six steals and five boards, while Weeks-Johnson went 8-for-13 on her way to 20 points and three steals. That's the most points Weeks-Johnson has posted since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Bailey Sierra, who put up eight points and five steals.

Despite the loss, South Baca [Campo/Vilas/Pritchett] saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Sarah Elmore went 6-for-15 to rack up 17 points and three steals. That was a full 63% of South Baca [Campo/Vilas/Pritchett]'s points, marking the third time in a row Elmore has had more than a third of the team's points.

The victory (which was Eads' 15th in a row) raised their record to 20-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.9 points on average over those games. As for South Baca [Campo/Vilas/Pritchett], they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-12 record this season.

Eads wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 56-26 win against Genoa-Hugo/Karval on the 8th. South Baca [Campo/Vilas/Pritchett] does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
