Basketball Recap: Blue Ridge Early College Comes Up Short

Blue Ridge Early College was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They took a blow against the Swain County Maroon Devils, falling 86-37. The Bobcats were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 49-21.

Blue Ridge Early College lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Victor Reyes, who posted nine points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeysson Soriano, who put up seven points.

Blue Ridge Early College's loss dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Swain County, the victory got them back to even at 6-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Blue Ridge Early College and Nantahala will face off at 6:00 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played. As for Swain County, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Andrews at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Andrews' favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last nine contests.
