Baseball Game Preview: Western Indians vs. Clay Panthers

Western hasn't had much luck against Clay recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Indians will head out to square off against the Panthers at 12:00 p.m. Neither Western nor Clay posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Western's offense. They came up short against Portsmouth West on Tuesday, falling 12-0.

Western saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brayden Jones, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double. That double was Jones' first of the season.

Meanwhile, Clay suffered their biggest defeat since April 4th on Monday. They lost 11-2 to South Webster. The Panthers have struggled against the Jeeps recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Western's loss dropped their record down to 2-16. As for Clay, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-5.

Western suffered a grim 24-1 defeat to Clay when the teams last played back in March. Can the Indians avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
