Football Recap: Ballou Knights vs. Roosevelt Roughriders
On Friday, Ballou faced Roosevelt in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Ballou Knights took a 20-14 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Roosevelt Roughriders. The Knights were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Roughriders apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2023.
Roosevelt found their leader in sophomore Deyon Smith, who rushed for 86 yards and two touchdowns on only 12 carries. That's the most rushing yards Smith has posted since back in September.
Ballou dropped their record down to 1-9 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Roosevelt, their victory bumped their record up to 7-3.
As of now, neither Ballou nor Roosevelt have any future games scheduled.
