Recap: Carson Cougars vs. North Rowan Cavaliers
This season hasn't been kind to the Carson Cougars, who are still winless after their ninth contest. They suffered a tough 64-38 defeat at the hands of North Rowan on Friday. While losing is never fun, Carson can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 546th, while North Rowan is ranked 158th).
Carson used a three-pronged attack on offense:
Emma Carpenter,
Julia Burleson, and
Rylee Hedrick posted eight points each. Hedrick also led the team in rebounds with five.
Carson's defeat was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-9. As for North Rowan, their win bumped their record up to 6-3.
Carson and South Rowan will face off on December 30th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. South Rowan has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 28. North Rowan and East Rowan will face off at 12:00 p.m. on December 30th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. East Rowan has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
