Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Turpin walked away with it. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Bellefontaine Chieftains on Saturday. The victory was nothing new for the Spartans as they're now sitting on three straight.

Turpin never let Bellefontaine on the board, but things got pretty close in the third set. The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-16, 25-23.

Maddie Steele paced Turpin's offense, picking up 16 kills. Steele got some help from Lilly Woolums and her 27 assists. Alana Michaelis controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Turpin's win bumped their record up to 17-8. As for Bellefontaine, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 16-7 record this season.

Turpin will square off against Ursuline Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Bellefontaine does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
