Softball Recap: Independence Comes Up Short

Independence lost against Benton on Monday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Mustangs fell just short of the Bobcats by a score of 7-6. The Mustangs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Independence's defeat dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Benton, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-5.

Coming up, Independence will welcome Center Point-Urbana at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The last three games the Stormin' Pointers have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Benton, they will head out to face off against Vinton-Shellsburg at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Bobcats are facing the Vikings at the right time seeing as the Vikings are stuck on an eight-game losing streak.
