Baseball Recap: Leeds Comes Up Short

Leeds lost against John Carroll Catholic back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Greenwave fell 8-5 to the Cavaliers.

Joseph Bryant was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out six batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and six unearned) runs off seven hits.

At the plate, Conner Nelson and Ty Bedell did some serious damage despite the final result: Nelson went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI, while Bedell scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-4.

Leeds' loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 19-10. As for John Carroll Catholic, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-12 record this season.

While Leeds had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
