Recap: West Florida Jaguars vs. Tate Aggies

Even though the West Florida Jaguars have not done well against the Tate Aggies recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. West Florida walked away with a 68-61 win over Tate. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.

West Florida was led to victory by Dominick Nicholson and John Anderson. Nicholson scored 17 points along with six rebounds and three steals, while Anderson scored 16 points along with seven rebounds and five blocks. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Anderson has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Brayden Justice, who scored nine points along with six rebounds.

Despite the loss, Tate still got an impressive performance from Jaquan Mcdonald, who scored 21 points along with five steals. Deonne Williams, jr. was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with eight rebounds.

Even though they lost, Tate were working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as West Florida only racked up three assists.

West Florida now has a winning record of 11-10. As for Tate, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-8.

West Florida will be playing at home against Pace at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Tate, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Niceville at 7:00 p.m. on January 26th. Hopefully Niceville focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up seven last Tuesday.
