Basketball Recap: Homer Takes a Loss

Homer and Oakland-Craig squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Homer had to settle for second. They lost 68-43 to Oakland-Craig. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss Homer has suffered since January 23, 2024.

Oakland-Craig's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Sonya Guzinski, who went 7-for-12 from beyond the arc on her way to 25 points. Guzinski is also on a roll when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy, as she's posted one of at least 42% in the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Hilary Ray, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and ten rebounds.

Homer's defeat dropped their record down to 24-3. As for Oakland-Craig, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-3 record this season.

Homer does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Oakland-Craig, they have already played their next game, a 49-45 win against Crofton on the 7th.
